Get good quality boots that fit your foot well and fit your snowboard properly. Buy the boots before the board because the width of the snowboard will be dependent on the size of the boot. Next to the purchase of the board and boots the most important piece of snowboard gear is the helmet. Your mom would say it’s the most important, but we’ll let you buy the board and boots first. Good quality gloves or mittens are a must. You will need bindings, wax, a lock for your board and comfortable clothing. Consider getting yourself some wrist guards and elbow protectors. Sunglasses or goggles are necessary too as is a good quality sunscreen. Think about getting a stomp pad to stop you from slipping of the board at the lift line. Get yourself a snowboarding iron or old non Teflon iron for waxing your board.
