Stop the Glare, Get Some Snowboard Goggles
Like helmets, goggles are a necessity when snowboarding. They protect your eyes from hazards as well as the sun. There are several things to look for when buying snowboard goggles. The first thing to check is that the goggles fit well. They should form a seal against your face to protect you from wind and snow. You can purchase goggles that fit over your helmet with a strap or ones that fit inside the sides of your helmet.
Snowboard goggles should have fog free lenses, best achieved with double lenses. Check that there is enough ventilation to help keep them fog free. There is nothing worse than to be in the middle of your ride and not be able to see your way down the hill.
The colour of the lens in snowboard goggles is varied but we prefer those that are yellow or orange as they give the best results for most conditions. Don’t buy goggles that have very dark lenses as they are best on really sunny days only. If you have a day that is dull the lenses will be too dark. We have assembled some manufacturers for you to compare products on this site.
